Keepin’ It Super Simple!
So, last week when I made these super cute bookmarks and stitched off a few extra “bee mine” patches. They were just so stinkin’ cute I had to find another way to use them.
Valentine’s Day Card
This project is for sewers all levels.
Skill Level- 1 Button
Materials:
- blank cards
- felt
- ribbon
- clear drying glue
Basic Instructions:
- To personalize my card, I created a small patch by layering felt and fabric. Then added a few decorative stitches found standard on my machine. Feel free to do this by hand. Get creative- maybe one large heart, xoxo, I <3 U… anything works! And if you don’t want to sew this part, there are plenty of fun trims to be found at the craft store.
- Cut your ribbon to fit across the front and back of card. (I clean finished the edge with a lighter.) To help ensure that my ribbon would be straight, I drew a light pencil line from back to front. Position and attach to card with clear drying glue. *less is more here! Place your patch on the band of ribbon and machine stitch to face of card . **Stitching through paper is the same process as fabric. But just remember, there is no removing stitches, you will be left with holes.
- Add your catching greeting on the inside of the card and you are all set!
oh & ps- this entire project was under $3.00 with my Michael’s 40% coupon.
Click here for yours but hurry, it is only good until 1/21/12.
