Trick or Treat Holders

I wanted to do something fun for my daughters class this year.  So, my wheels were spinning.  Then I thought – how about a few sucker holders!

This project is for all levels.

Materials:

  • felt
  • ribbon trim

  • stuffing *I used Pellon Perfect Loft

Instructions:

Ghost-

  1. Pin pattern and cut 2 layers of felt for each treat holder.  Then cut a small strip from the scraps about 1 1/4″ x 3/8″. (this will hold the lollipop later)
  2. Since I wanted my ghost to shimmer, I sprayed on some Tulip Glitter Spray Paint.  (I did this inside a box to avoid any over spray)
  3. While drying, I tacked my lollipop holder in place with a straight stitch on the back of ghost. After it dried, I attached my snap eyes.  You can create the eyes with a marker, felt or even paint.
  4. Fold a piece of ribbon in half and sandwich at the top edge. Pin front and back together.
  5. Edge stitch all around outside leaving a small opening for stuffing.
  6. Stuff and stitch closed.

  3. Starting below the brim of hat; stitch all around outside edge.
  4. Stuff and stitch closed.  Then edge stitch all around the edge of hat.

Aren’t they cute? I am going to stitch together a bunch of treat holders and use them as goodies for Halloween.  I think they would even make cute party favors.
