A few months ago I shared a community service project: Patient Pouches and today, I wanted to give you an update. The T & B Foundation had an internal goal of delivering 100 pouches to the Wills Eye Hospital in September and I am over the moon to report that they blew their goal out of the water and delivered 172 patient pouches filled with goodies. (HOLY COW!!)
Not only do these pouches bring a smile to a young child’s face but they help ease the stressful waiting period during treatment.
Patient Pouch Update- Your WIP
Here are a few photos of your work in progress! Check out those smiles!!
As you can see, the kids really enjoy receiving these pouches filled with hidden treasures. Sabra from T & B Foundation was so excited to recieve your handmade goodness and wanted to let us know that they are planning another delivery this Thanksgiving. Their goal is to make sure the hospital is fully stocked for the holidays.
Please remember that each child leaves the hospital with their very own pouch to take home and keep. So, if you have a few minutes to spare and are looking for a quick project, please consider creating a few patient pouches to send their way. You can find the full details and pattern information here.
I am truly touched by our community and the support that we have shown these children. Thank you for sharing your time, talent and kindness!
