Can I get a hand raise if you own a few ugly Christmas sweaters? Come on, I am sure I’m not the only one out there with one tucked away in the closet. To be clear, this is a handmade vintage ugly sweater. In fact, it was made by my great-aunt. Now, I can’t recall who it was made for and will say that there is no proof that I actually wore it. (still have family looking for pictures) But for some strange reason, I just can not part with it. So, it’s time to remake, restyle and refashion it up!
I’m gonna take the easy road on this one and turn it into a decorative pillow. It is quick, virtually effortless and I can easily get Mr. TSL to approve it
being seen in public seeing the light of day this time of year.
This project is for all levels.

Since every sweater is a different size, I am going to refer back to a few posts. I started by measuring my sweater to find how big of a pillow form I needed.
Then, it was time to select my pillow cover construction. Would it be an easy zipper cover , envelope closure or a straight up fixed pillow? Because this baby would only see the light of day one month out of the year, I went with the zipper closure. This construction makes pulling out the pillow form and packing away easy as pie!
What about you? Do you have any ugly Christmas sweaters tucked away in your closet? If so, I’d love to see you dust them off and give them a new lease of life!
