Quilt Market 2014, Houston & Giveaway

The past week was jam packed with so many fun things that I just have to share! I had visits from friends and Fall International Quilt Market in Houston rolled into one.

It started off with a local conference that let me kick back and hang with a few blogging friends.

Actually, I kinda cringe to write the words “blogging friends” since I chat with them all the time and consider them true buds.  It was just so nice to sit down and connect in person instead of texting, messaging or having an on-line hang out, we actually got to kick back in person. Heck, we even had time for a nice lunch in the sun!

Fabric Shopping with sewing peeps. The Sewing LoftSince Deby was visiting from the islands, I had to take her to one of the local fabric shops. She was looking for some upholstery weight materials and I knew that Mary Jo’s would have something to tickle her fancy. Then, it was off to Houston!

I could feel the energy building form the minute the wheels touched the tarmac!

Friday was all about schoolhouse- aka, TONS of classes! I had the pleasure of sitting in on one with Pepper Croy and she was just a pure delight! Seriously, the next time she is teaching in my general area, I am there! Then, it was my turn. I was part of a panel with Martingale to chat about the new book Fun Size Quilts.

Then it was off to quick cab ride and dinner with friends.

Fast forward to sample spree and all I can say is WOW, these gals love a good deal! It was packed and not really my cup of tea so, I only picked up a few goodies and enjoyed the show.
