If you use all cotton batting in them, and make them deeper, they are great to use under a bowl in the microwave as a hot pad for a bowl of soup or other dish. Carry them to the table with the bowl, and you will also protect your table from the heat. If you curve those darts and take them more into the center they will form a more rounded shape.

Thank you, Heather. The timing of this pattern/idea couldn’t have been any better. I have a church dinner coming up and I was looking for something to use for putting bread rolls on the tables. I can make a dozen of these and have one for each table. I can make them large enough for my plan, and can just throw them in the washer afterwards, and re-use them as often as needed. Thank you for this idea. It’s a great alternative to baskets.
