Each week I share a new block in the Blocks 2 Quilt series and this week, I’m adding the Butterfly Beauty quilt block.
This Butterfly quilt block is inspired by my garden. I have several butterfly bushes and they are just starting to form flower buds. That means butterflies are on the way.
Throughout the summer, butterflies tend to flock to our bushes and at one point, we counted more than 25 butterflies hanging out. It was so cool to see!
Butterfly Beauty Quilt Block
The Butterfly Beauty quilt block is available in two finished sizes that measure:
- 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
- 12″ x 12″ (33 x 33 cm)
Materials & Tool Supply List:
- Assorted Scraps: Assorted Colorful Prints and Background Prints
- Cutting mat/ Rotary cutter/ Quilt ruler
- Heat erasing marking tool
- Spray starch
- Flatter Spray
- Sewing Machine
Honestly, this simple block is a perfect way to highlight a favorite fabric, use up colorful scraps, and practice the flip and stitch quilting method.

Why can’t I get the new free blocks butterfly beauty the last ones you offer I could not get

I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the program and look forward to each new block release. Since every personal set up is different, I am not sure why you are suddenly having difficultly downloading new blocks. Perhaps a quick Google search with more details of the error message could be helpful.

Thank you for the easy, accurate patterns that you create. After 50 years of quilting, I am all for any pattern that can clear out scraps. All of yours can use scraps!
Butterfly Beauty-error page 3. Bottom of black C should be G, not F. You need a 1 1/2″ square, not 2″. The diagram is correct on page1. Love all your blocks!
Thanks a bunch for your note, Carol. I caught it pretty fast and the pattern was updated on 6/11. You should have received an updated copy of it for your records. Keep those eagle eyes peeled for more cute blocks on the way!
