It’s time for the next block in my Blocks 2 Quilt series and this one has a funny backstory. Say hello to Lil’ Lolo, the Desert Cactus quilt block.
Some backstory on Lil’ Lolo. Recently, my oldest daughter, Lady A, has become very interested in succulents and early this year came home with an adorable cactus that had a flower at the top. Fast forward to repotting and the moment I told her the flower was glued on…Let’s just say she was shocked! To be fair, appalled might be more accurate.
You see, Lil’ Lolo got her name because of that glued on flower. Lady A thought she was sassy and needed a fun name to complement her spunky personality. For days we would all tease her about that flower and wonder how she missed the sticker on the pot highlighting that it was glued on. (we all got a good chuckle)
