On a normal day, I create and sew from my little studio space in North Carolina but last week, I took the show on the road, literally. After tons of prep work, I packed up all of my goodies into a massive suitcase and hopped on a plane to Baby Lock headquarters in St. Louis. The few days that followed would be interesting to say the least!
You see, not only was I going to be sewing while there but I would be filming fun things. You heard me…. filming! Now, I’ve been in front of the camera before but this was a little different.
I wish I would have taken a picture from my side of the table. It was full on studio lighting, microphone, tripod, and of course, the camera. Toss in the big screen in the background, my new BFF Tina and you have a party! Here are a few snap shots.
Clearly, I am concentrating on my ruffles but you can see a some of the equipment and if you look closely, you can even see Tina. She is that piece of paper hanging below the camera lens. (I promised her we would do a spa day and get her a new hairdo.)
If you’ve ever met me in person, it’s pretty clear that I have the gift of gab and like to goof off…. but for some reason, that first day had me on pins and needles. I think it was just being front and center that threw me off. Oh and let’s not forget the lights!
But have no fear, I settled into a rhythm and soon enough we were all goofing off. I might even dare to say there was dancing.
So, I can’t give too much away but I will say this…. I LOVE the projects! They are super fun, jam packed with sewing tips and include one of my all time favorite types of sewing, free style stitching. So keep your eyes peeled…. fun things are happening! And they will be coming your way early in spring 2015.
As always, a big thank you to Baby Lock and all of you for your massive support over the past few years. Without your constant encouragement these adventures would not be possible.
ps- have I mentioned lately…. I love my Baby Lock?!
