My holiday decor is in need of a change up this year. To be upfront, we have a gold-ish square tree skirt with a faux fur boarder from years past that no one likes. I have no clue when, where or why I bought it but it’s time to go!
Holiday Decor WIP
I started with a simple round tree skirt for the mini tree, added the words ho ho ho and some decorative stitching. Using the white flower print for the letters really worried me but I could not find any solid white in my stash. (I know I have it somewhere..) In the end, I think it looks like snowflakes and really like it. Now that the mini skirt is finished and everyone seems to really like it, I need to work on one for the big tree.
Since it’s already the 1st week of December and I’ve to get this baby done, I am so glad that the Funky Alphabet Appliqué Pattern prints out in the reverse. With so many letters to trace, it’s a real time saver! At this point, I have all of my letters traced on the paper back fusible and need to get cutting. Tonight’s plan of attack is to park myself in front of the tv with my trusty scissors and cut the night away. Then, I need to fuse them in place and get stitching!
Stay tuned, keep your fingers crossed and “Believe in the magic of Christmas” (words for my big tree skirt) that I can get this project finished by Friday! I think I need to lock myself in the studio tomorrow, crank up the tunes and stitch away. Wish me luck!

I like your tree skirt and would like to make one also. I cannot find the instructions. I did purchase the letters and downloaded them. Can you help me with finding the instuctions?

Hello Debbie,
I did not create instructions. I just made a simple circle skirt. Babble has a great round up of easy DIY Christmas tree skirts. Here is a direct link. http://www.babble.com/crafts-activities/21-christmas-tree-skirts-to-make/
Keep me posted if you need help.

Just found your site…if I could I would hug your neck! My sister just suggested I make her some Christmas ornaments for her gift. I had never done this as I’m a quilter. Now, with all these patterns I’m going to work on several and get them to her before Christmas….Thank you, thank you, Marie
