Let’s welcome in the new year with fresh ideas, organized plans, and the creative freedom we all crave!
Normally, I like to kickstart each year with a clean space, a plan, and big dreams for the year ahead but this year feels a little different. I’m more determined and want to be more intentional with my time. So, I started off like I normally do by sorting my scraps, cleaning my machine, and unpacking all my WIPs.
I quickly realized that my scrap stash was hard to manage and needed more organization. To help get things organized, I stacked and sliced my fabrics into a few usable sizes that I often reach for. With the help of the Stripology ruler, I was able to make quick work of the process. This ruler is one of my favorite tools in the studio and I’ll be sharing more on that later.
After organizing my scraps, it dawned on me that a more structured approach was needed to maintain focus. So, I devised a monthly at-a-glance calendar tailored to keep me on course. The design is intentionally minimal, featuring designated areas for little notes and a dedicated section for ongoing projects. I’m optimistic that this straightforward printout will help me stay on track all year long.
I truly believe that having things all in one place for a quick glance will help keep me motivated and help me succeed. There will be no more sticky notes on my desk, scraps of paper with random notes, instead, I’ll be jotting them down here.

I’ve been cutting fabric into usable sizes also. I filled a laundry basket of fabric that I cut. Now how to keep them organized and stored is the next hurdle! I love the calendar! Thank you!
