Allow me to introduce the Lemonade Spritzer quilt block pattern!
When temperatures register over the 95° mark on the daily, you know it’s summer in the south! For me, summer means many things like lazy days at the pool, time with family & friends and my personal fave, a tall glass of ice-cold lemonade. That’s my inspiration for this weeks blocks 2 quilt series.
There is just something soothing about sipping on a glass of lemonade or ice tea during the summer months that instantly helps cool me down. Toss in a covered front porch and I may never want to leave!
Lemonade Spritzer Quilt Block
The finished flag quilt block is available in two different sizes that measure:
- 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
- 12″ x 12″ (33 x 33 cm)
Material & Tool Supply List:
- Assorted Scraps: Pink, Yellow, Blue, Gray & White Prints
- Cutting mat/ Rotary cutter/ Quilt ruler
- Heat erasing marking tool
- Spray starch
Lemonade Spritzer Quilt Block Construction:
This construction patchwork block highlights straight sewing with smaller pieces. It is these small pieces that can be tricker for a new quilter that’s why I am rating the skill level for this block perfect for the confident beginner to intermediate stitcher. *Note that the 6″ finished block requires 3/4″ wide pieces.
To ensure your block lays flat, it is important to follow the pressing instructions after each step. They will create tightly nested seams and make your block shine in your finished quilt top.
This week you can add the Lemonade Spritzer quilt block pattern to your library for free after that, it will be available for sale in the shop.
This block can be made in any color story you can dream up and I can’t wait to see. Please be sure to share a few pictures of your finished blocks using the hashtags #Blocks2Quilt and #TheSewingLoft when posting so we can all be inspired by your fabric pull.

Thanks so much! This block is rather timely as I needed something unique for my grand-daughter, who has 3-yr-old twins, so she relies on what she calls her “pink drink” (her daily vitamin energy beverage) & posts it frequently on FB. Whether I make a mug/snack rug or a placemat, this will fit her to a T!
