It’s official, November is here, and that means that the autumn winds are picking up and flocks have begun their migration. It’s the perfect time to turn our attention to one of quilting’s most iconic and versatile blocks: the Flying Geese. This month, we’re celebrating movement, tradition, and creativity with our Flying Geese Technique Challenge. This is your invitation to explore this timeless unit in fresh, exciting ways.

This Month’s Focus: Flying Geese
Why Flying Geese?
Flying Geese blocks are the backbone of so many quilt designs. They add direction, transition, and visual interest, whether they’re soaring across a border, forming stars, or creating bold geometric patterns. With multiple construction methods to choose from, they’re a great way to build confidence and refine your piecing skills.

Challenge Details:
- Head to your scrap bins and make a project where Flying Geese are the star of the show. Big, small, scrappy, or mixed—every triangle counts!
 - Remember, the goal is to stitch every last inch of your stash, so no shopping trips allowed. Just you, your scraps, and your imagination.
 - Try a new method: Stitch-and-flip, four-at-a-time, or paper piecing. It’s Maker’s choice!
 - I’ll be sharing weekly prompts to keep you inspired.
 - Share your progress in the Scrappy Girls Club Group with #ScrappyGirlsChallenge and tag me so I can cheer you on!
 - Reflect on what you learned—this challenge is about growth and using your scraps, not perfection.
 - To get the party started, we are including a free Flying Geese Cutting Chart sheet. Simply download and print at home.
