It’s time to reveal the next edition in the Blocks 2 Quilt series and this week is all about the Seashells quilt block.
Honestly, who doesn’t love a day at the beach? There is just something about the sand between my toes and the sounds of the waves hitting the shore that puts me into instant relax mode! Toss in searching for the perfect shell and I’m in heaven.
This week is spring break in my world and we headed to the sandy shores of Florida to spend time with family and friends. We spent our days searching for the perfect shells, soaking up the sun and just having fun.
It was perfection to just sit back, listen to the waves crash and not worry about a thing. The best part was that inspiration was everywhere!
Seashells Quilt Block Details:
Each finished Seashells quilt block measures-
- 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
- 12″ x 12″ (33 x 33 cm)
Material & Tool Supply List:
- Assorted Scraps: Tan, Coral & Background Prints
- Cutting mat/ Rotary cutter/ Quilt ruler
- Heat erasing marking tool
- Spray starch
- Basic Sewing Supplies
This block is made with a simple patchwork construction that highlights half square triangles and strip piecing. It is the perfect skill builder for the beginner.
