Warm Quilt Block:
This week, you will need to make 3 versions of the warm quilt block in two different sizes. This is is one of those blocks that you don’t even have to add stitching too. The applique design can just be fused in place. But for me, it provides the perfect opportunity to add some free motion stitching.
Even though this block is simple, I want to share a few quick tips to help keep you on track.
Trace out all of your template pieces and prepare for stitching.
After all of the pieces are fused and trimmed it is time for placement on the main square. To help find the center, I have a quick trick.
Fold your quilt block into quarters and press the center point. This will create a crease at the center point for applique placement.
Place your applique pieces as desired and fuse to fabric. Then it’s time to stitch in place.
I layered my pieces and stitched along the way. I’m pretty smitten with the way it turned out. Let’s take a look at it finished.
Remember, you will need to make 3 blocks in two different sizes to complete the quilt. So, before you start slicing into your fabrics, be sure to check out how my friends stitched up their honest quilt block. You can see the full line up here.
