Spring quilt market 2013 was filled with sheer awesomeness but one of my biggest take aways from Spring Quilt Market was just how much talent was on display under one roof. If I said it once, I must have said it 100 times, so many hands stitched that conference together. Each booth was dripping in handmade goodness. From the fabric designs to hanging quilts, the booth displays were jam-packed with talent.
I will warn you now, this post is HEAVY in photos! I thought you would like to see as much as possible. Here are a few of my highlights:
Spring Quilt Market 2013
Hawthorne Threads Mo Bedell | Hello Tokyo | Pat Bravo
(Yes, that dress is made entirely of salvage and one of my favorite things about this booth is hidden behind the curtain. Jodie’s daughter was taking a little snooze-aroo!)
Another fun thing that was announced was that Quilt! Knit! Stitch! would be a new show debuting in Portland during August of 2014. The show will highlight and recognize the diversity of needle arts practitioners in the Pacific Northwest. This is something that I will keep my eyes peeled for next year.
To be fair, I did not walk the floor all that much. Actually, I have been spying photos on the web that I did not see at the show and I am feeling slightly cheated. They were amazing! It was easy to get turned around when looking at everything and spotting something to drool over at every turn. Next time, I will be sure to walk the floor in a grid pattern before stopping to chat with friends or getting up close and personally with a something that caught my eye. I am hoping to attend the fall market in October and have heard that it is even bigger than spring market. I hope to come back with tons of photos and even more eye candy to share.
