Sewing with friends is too much fun to pass up so when Jacquelynne from The Art of Home asked me to join the fun in the I love home quilt block of the month, I was all in! Each month I will share a few pictures of my block for the month and host a giveaway. I hope that you will join the fun and sign up for the free pattern to stitch along with us.
The I love home quilt is so whimsical and really lends itself to my personal style. Each block is designed to be hand appliqued but I just had to infuse my style and layer on the free motion quilting.
Supplies:
- I love home pattern
- Assorted fabrics
- Double sided fusible
- Sewing machine
- Iron
- Open toe free motion foot
- Basic Sewing Supplies
*Fabrics used in block include Patrick Loose Christmas Cheer and a few batiks.
Each layer of the applique design gave me an opportunity to add my version of character.
To help make my thread lines pop, I reached for a spool of Aurifil thread. The Medium Delft Blue jumps off the colorful prints and really outlines the design.
Something about this block reminds me of our old house in New Jersey so, I added extra details to my windows and love the way it turned out.
