Next up in the Heartland Heritage virtual quilt along is the Posy block.
This sweet block is the perfect way to infuse playful color into your quilt top. I say, find your inspiration and just have fun!
From the grass to the trees, Mother Nature provides the most beautiful assortments of green across the horizon. It is pure visual eye candy for all to see and I thought I would put that inspiration straight into my Posy blocks. Here are a few options to help get you inspired.
Heartland Heritage Posy Block
I pulled 4 fun fabrics from my stash of sunshine and could hardly wait to get to that cutting table.
After a few quick slices with my rotary cutter at the table, I was ready to sit down at the machine and sew. The block stitches together in just a few passes under the needle. Then it is time to head to the ironing board. This is where the magic happens! It is ultra important to press the seams properly.
By pressing the seams in one direction the final two seams will nest together like magic. They will instantly lay together flat and look beautiful when quilted.
Just take a look at the backside of my block. Picture perfect! You will need to complete 5 Posy quilt blocks to complete your Heartland Heritage quilt top.
Posy Block Photo Finish
Now, don’t forget, I want to see what fabrics you stitch up! Please be sure to share a few snapshots of your finished blocks in my scrap happy community or on social media with the hashtag #TheSewingLoft or #heartlandheritagebom. This way, we can all see and celebrate your latest sewing success!
ps- don’t have the pattern yet and want to join the fun? You can order Heartland Heritage here and catch up on past blocks here.

I am sure sharing your news was not easy, but it opens up opportunities for people to show you compassion! And that is something we can all use more of!!!

Thank you so much for your sweet note Danita. It is always hard to share personal news and I try to keep things sewing related but sometimes, when I am quiet additional information is needed.
Again, thank you for the kind words. They mean so much!
