What is the Shades of Bue Challenge?
It’s a month-long invitation to dive into your stash, pull out every blue fabric you can find, and create something timeless. Whether you’re stitching a quilt block, a table runner, minimalist home decor, or a heartfelt gift, the only rule is: blue hues take center stage.
How to join the challenge?
- Choose your project: Big or small, practical or whimsical—anything goes!
- Remember, the goal is to stitch every last inch of your stash, so no shopping trips allowed. Just you, your scraps, and your imagination.
- Feature shades of blue: Use them as the main color for your statement piece.

Why blue for April?
April sits right at that seasonal crossroads, winter’s chill fading and spring’s energy rising. Blue captures that in-between feeling beautifully. It can be crisp like early morning air, stormy like a spring rain, or bright like the first clear sky after a long week of clouds.
Blue also pairs so well with others. Pair it with warm neutrals for balance, with greens for a botanical vibe, or purples and lavenders for something dreamy and soft. Blue on blue is always a classic too.
