Tiny steps make mighty makers. Sometimes the biggest boost to your sewing life isn’t a full weekend retreat or a brand-new project…..it’s one little thing. One tiny action that makes sewing easier to find time for, your space calmer, or your creativity easier to reach.
This month, choose one small task that makes your sewing better, smoother, or more joyful. No pressure, no perfection, just momentum.

Why focus on One Little Thing for June?
- It builds confidence: small wins gain momentum.
- It creates space for creativity: spring cleaning for your creative spirit.
- It reminds you that progress doesn’t have to be dramatic.
Case in point: my ironing board cover.
While it was still doing its job, it looked really rough and had definitely seen better days. So, I gave it a good washing and then headed straight to my fabric stash to see what I could come up with. A little digging, some measuring, and a fresh ironing board cover was born!
Is it fancy? Nope.
Did I have enough fabric for one continuous piece? Also nope.
I had to seam it in two spots, but you know what? I absolutely love it. It looks clean, fresh, and makes me feel so much better every time I use it. Heck, I can actually include pressing in my videos now.
It’s amazing how much one little thing can make such a big difference.

Ideas to Get You Started:
- Refresh a tool: swap your needle or give your ironing station a glow-up.
- Sort a handful of scraps: by color, size, or vibe.
- Tidy one surface: your cutting table, your machine, or that one corner you pretend not to see.
- Wind three bobbins: future you will be thankful.
- Sew an organizer: zipper pouch, storage basket, or trinket tray.

Challenge Details:
The goal for June isn’t perfection or a big project. It’s movement. It’s clarity. You may just find a ripple effect, one tidy corner leads to one finished block leads to one joyful maker.
