Let me ask you a question…. Have you colored lately? Coloring was one of my favorite things to do as a child. I can remember taking great pride in my coloring skills and outlining each section with a darker crayon. Well, fast forward too many years to count and I still enjoy a good color session. Especially when my girls are involved!
So, this weekend we kicked backed and got our craft on. We made Christmas ornaments, colored and just goofed off.
Now, I need to just say that we didn’t color in just any old book. Nope, this one was designed by my friend Patty Young and the pages were not your average circus animals or flowers that I used to color. Nope, instead these pages were filled with the playful designs that are perfect for any age. I know what your thinking… I’m too old to be coloring. Well, let me just say, NO WAY!
It was fun to see what colors the girls picked and I just kept thinking we should do this more often. During the session Missy S decided to “school” me on the world of coloring. She explained that I was doing it all wrong. In fact, she said:
“Mom, you have to do it side to side and not up and down. You’re messing it all up!”
Well, I explained that coloring was fun and there was no right or wrong way to do it. Boy was I wrong!
