Wow, last week I shared my Fall Leaves quilt block and based on the feedback, everyone is ready to start sewing for the season. So, I thought it would be fun to add another treat to your quilt block library, the Acorn Quilt Block.
I know the calendar states September but one glance at any thermometer in the South and you will find that the stars are not aligned. We are still swimming in the ’90s here in North Carolina.
So, these fall-inspired blocks are really just daydreams for me at the moment.
To be fair, there are a few leaves falling and earlier this week I actually spotted a few acorns on my sidewalk.
Acorn Quilt Block Details
The Acorn quilt block is available in 2 different finished sizes.
- 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
- 12″ x 12″ (33 x 33 cm)
Materials & Tool Supply List:
- Assorted Scraps: Tonals, Brown, & Background Prints
- Cutting mat/ Rotary cutter/ Quilt ruler
- Heat erasing marking tool
- Spray starch
The simple design and strip piecing construction of this block make it perfect for the beginner quilter and fun for auditioning scraps. This block features piecing, accurate seam allowance, and HST’s.
This week you can add the Acorn quilt block pattern to your library for free after that it will be available for sale in the shop.
