You might have noticed but over the last few years I have gotten pretty comfortable with quilting. From my calendar quilt with Inspiring Stitches to my standard block of the month patterns, I’ve been stretching my wings. Now it’s time to take my skills to the next level. To make that happen, I’ve designed a new program called Blocks 2 Quilt.
Starting in January, I will release a new quilt block each week to help hone your skills. The block designs will be shared in an easy to download format that include 2 sizes and for a limited time, will be available for free in the shop.
The blocks are part of a collection that I’ve been working on throughout the year in my spare time. Seriously, designing has become an obsession.
From drawing on graph paper to design software for your computer, designing quilt blocks can be done in a variety of ways. While I love drawing by hand, I want to continue to expand my skills so, I’ve been working in EQ8. Also known as Electric Quilt 8.
You can purchase the software at your local quilt shop or here on line. The best part is that it is available for both PC and Mac. I have mine loaded up on my laptop so that I can use it whenever a free minute pops up!
Blocks 2 Quilt Details
- new quilt block released each week
- blocks available in 2 sizes: 12″ & 6″ finished
- cutting instructions & diagrams included
- each block is free for a limited time
If you follow along, at the end of the year you will have 52 new designs to add to your block library. Each block will be a simple pieced patchwork construction and have step by step instructions.
So be sure to stay tuned because the countdown to new blocks 2 quilt is on!
