It’s Friday so that means it’s time to release the next block in my Blocks 2 Quilt series. Say hello to the Bookends quilt block.
With many countries and states across the USA having to shelter in place to help flatten the curve, I thought this block was perfectly timed.
Since borrowing a physical book is not an option right now, I have been making the most of my library app, Libby. It is awesome! With just a few clicks on my phone, I can reserve, listen and read so many titles.
Quilt Block Details
Each finished Bookends quilt block measures:
- 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
- 12″ x 12″ (33 x 33 cm)
Material & Tool Supply List:
- Assorted Scraps: Turquoise, Pink, and Orange Prints
- Cutting mat/ Rotary cutter/ Quilt ruler
- Heat erasing marking tool
- Spray starch
- Sewing machine
To make things fun, I suggest you experiment with the writing and cute artwork details found along the edge of your fabrics. consider them the title of the book.
The simple patchwork construction of the block is perfect for anyone looking to stretch their skills in the color & print department.
