Candy Canes Quilt Block | Blocks 2 Quilt

This time of year sweets are everywhere so, it’s only fitting that a few Candy Canes be included in my Blocks 2 Quilt series.

Candy canes are one of those sweet candies that play well with others if you know what I mean. From a swizzle stick in a cup of hot cocoa to an extra treat on your present, these mini treats can be found everywhere.

Candy Canes Quilt Block

The Candy Canes quilt block is available in 2 different sizes.

• 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
• 12″ x 12″ (33 x 33 cm)

• Assorted Scraps: Red, White & Background Prints 
• Cutting mat/ Rotary cutter/ Quilt ruler
• Heat erasing marking tool
• Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmer
• Spray starch

The Candy Canes quilt block is created from a simple patchwork and HST’s. This block is perfect for the confident beginner.

For anyone new or nervous about making half-square triangles, don’t stress. They are much easier than you think. The key is trimming them square and to size. Here are a few tips to help make that happen with ease.
