On the average day I like to dig into my scrap bin but when a friend releases a new fabric line, I just have to get my hands on it! My buddy Patty from Mod Kid just released Flit and Bloom with Riley Blake and the bright colors were calling me.
Just look at those fun prints, patterns, and that selvage…. LOVE!! Instantly, I knew that I wanted to mix those colors together and make something fun like my Scrap Snack casserole carrier.
Casserole Carrier Details:
- 4 prints from the Flit and Bloom collection
- 1 coordinating solid
- 1 package of insulated batting
- 2 metal D rings
- 1 1/4″ webbing
Once the cutting was finished my casserole carrier stitched together super fast.
Now, normally I would layer the top over the insulated batting and just do some straight quilting but today, I wanted more. Since I don’t have a long arm quilting machine, I needed to go to plan B.
Luckily, my Destiny II is my go to gal. Seriously, she is the bomb! Her features help me bring even my wildest ideas to life. One of the features on this amazing machine is the camera. I was able to use it to scan in my project, place the quilting design exactly where I wanted it and sit back while the magic happened. (*Sorry for the black & white photo but I like to sew at night.)
Once the layers were stitched together, I added a the D rings and my casserole carrier was ready to hit the road.

I just love these quick hitter projects like this. They are perfect for those days when time is hard to come by. Heck, who am I kidding- that’s everyday!
