It’s time for the next edition of the Blocks 2 Quilt series, say hello to the Celtic Trail quilt block. Since I’m kinda smitten with this color pallet, we are sticking with the Saint Patrick’s theme.
Honestly, this block would look fantastic stitched in any color pallet so please don’t let my selection cramp your style!

Here is a quick peek at a simple quilt top made with this block. Just think about how many smaller scrap bits you can clear out of your stash with this cutie! Plus, I love the idea of fussy cutting that center block. So many possibilities.
When joined together, this block will make a wonderful Irish Chain. Even though the single block pattern is written for scraps, the block is perfect for strip piecing. This simple adjustment would help you speed through an entire quilt made with this block. Who knows, I might even be up for writing a quick stitch pattern for it.
The Celtic Trail block pattern is available in an instant download pdf in my shop. It includes 2 finished sizes, step-by-step instructions with illustrations, and is perfect for using your scraps.
