We are down to the last few weeks of the Friendship quilt along and I’m getting excited to stitch this thing together! The block this week is for all my considerate friends out there. I adore you to the moon and back and am so thankful to have you in my world!! No, let’s dive right in and check out how my considerate quilt block turned out.
This week, you will need to make 2 versions of the considerate quilt block. The block is a simple construction highlighting the applique technique and points. Let’s take a look.
Considerate Quilt Block:
This block is perfect for practicing your points. The best way to achieve perfect points is to have accurate seam allowance. Be sure to read this article I wrote and learn how to check for seam allowance accuracy.
This block uses the Considerate template from the Friendship Quilt Templates collection but I wanted to add a splash more color & detail to mine. So, I also included the Gracious template shape. After tracing the design out, I fused them to a piece of scrap, trimmed them out and added some free motion stitching. I really like the way the extra layer of detail looks.
It was that easy! Let’s take a look at my finished considerate quilt blocks.
For anyone just joining in now, here is more information on the Friendship Quilt Along.

I have a vintage ‘Friendship Quilt’ which has relatives names embroidered in the center of each block. What a treasure! One block is my great-grandmother’s name. Another block includes the date – 1934! Ancestry documentation in a quilt. Just thought I would share.
