As a quilter, fabric plays an important role in my world. Just a simple change of color and print can make such a difference in the outlook of a quilt design. That’s why I was thrilled to dive into the new fabric collection, Night Rainbow by Deborah Fisher from FishMuseum + Circus. This collection, with its dark and moody hues paired with a touch of playfulness, offers an exciting palette for creative quilting projects.
I just love being about to collab with friends in the quilting community and working with someones fabric collection is such a special treat!
The Inspiration Behind Night Rainbow
Deborah has truly outdone herself with Night Rainbow. The collection features an assortment of 24 different prints and colors, including a delightful 2 1/4″ strip that is perfect for creating boundless binding. The fabrics’ dark tones, combined with whimsical patterns, make them versatile for a range of projects, from elegant to quirky.
Creating a Halloween Vibe with Night Rainbow
With the dark and playful vibe of Deborah’s Night Rainbow collection, I was instantly inspired to create something with a Halloween twist. To help showcase the collection, I stitched up two of my Silhouette Moon blocks from my Blocks2Quilt collection and created a patchwork center.
The result? A stunning table runner that’s perfect for the upcoming holiday season. The deep colors and playful prints of the Night Rainbow fabrics add a unique touch to the design, making it a standout piece for any Halloween celebration.
How to Make Your Own Silhouette Moon Block Table Runner
If you’re as inspired by the Night Rainbow collection as I am, you stitch up your own. Once the pieces were cut, the entire project came together quickly. Here is a quick behind the scenes video of the process.
You can see a more detailed video on how to make the block here on my YouTube Channel.
