Top Stitch-
verb
A standard straight stitch found on the top of garments. Topstitching can provide a design element as well as structural support.
The best way to achieve professional looking topstitching is to use a slightly longer stitch length compared to a standard joining seam. 3 to 3 ½ will provide the best outlook. Topstitching can be made in a matching color or contrast thread to attract attention to a design element.
