Sewing is a way for us to get creative, embellish, make and transform fabric into something that is uniquely ours. Today’s special guest is doing just that. Please give a warm welcome to Sue O’very from Sealed with a Stitch.

Today, Sue is showing us how to transform our fabric scraps into 3D flowers. These flowers can doll up any dress, hat, napkin or even your shoes.
Learn how to make 3D flowers in the hoop from fabric scraps with Sue O'Very during National Sewing Month on The Sewing Loft.

3D Flowers In The Hoop

Sue’s design is made with an embroidery machine, entirely in the hoop. Want to know what makes these little goodies stand out on their own? Discover Sue’s clever techniques to add craft wire all in the hoop so the flowers really come alive, and to use a heat-burning tool around the outside for perfectly finished satin stitching. She even embellishes them with a special touch of beads and crystals at the center to really set them off! (Clever, Clever!)

While there be sure to check out her other tutorialsvideos and don’t forget to share a few pictures of your finished flowers or tag us on social media when you share them. We want to see!

I'm celebrating National Sewing Month with The Sewing Loft. They have special guests, tons of projects and cool giveaways to keep me stitching all month long!
