They say what’s old is new again and boy did I see great sewing trends on our 127 sale adventure! Some of them are so simple and I thought it would be fun to share.
Sewing Trends
Scrapping is back!
Making the most of what you have on hand has always been part of my way of life and it was so fun to see such beautiful things made with small leftover fabrics.
Simple Shapes
Simple shapes like half square triangles are a time-honored tradition among quilters but did you know there is more than one way to make them? Click here for 4 easy ways to bring your quilt to life with half square triangles or here to try get your hexi love on.
Vintage Machines
Every time we turned around we bumped into another machine and boy some were just so beautiful!
The vintage Singer was the real winner here. They were everywhere and each time I spotted a feather weight, I would smile. I reminded me of my Grandmother’s tucked away in storage. It’s no wonder they brought back the limited edition version.
But this little guy is the one that haunts me. I wish I would have taken him home. Mr. TSL even asked me, “Why don’t you grab it?”, while I was eyeing it up. No clue why I didn’t, other than me trying not to be a crazy pack rat. Even though I have never stitched on this brand before there was something about it. I love the color and the masculine lines spoke to me.
What about you? Be sure to let me know any sewing trends you’ve spotted!

Loved seeing your shots from 127. We went again this year. I got some great buys for sewing that I posted on my blog. I’m hoping scrapping is coming back. I’ve been using Dad’s shirts to make memory quilts and several have shared with me they want to do the same. Some seem to not have thought that quilts could be made from worn clothing? It’s all just history. I’ve been visiting your blog for some time now. Enjoying it.

How do I get one of my machines repainted?

That’s a great question Roxann. After a quick search on Google, I found this site. I would suggest dropping them an email to find out more.
