Wow, so many of you exchanged such beautiful scraps in our first SWAP last month and I can’t wait to see what you make with all of those goodies. That’s why I’m thrilled to launch our next SWAP, mini wallets.
I love hosting sewing swaps! They are the perfect way to meet someone who shares your passion, understands that creativity can be messy, and knows how hard it can be to toss that small scrap of fabric! Best of all, each participant pours their heart into each and every exchange. I am consistently blown away by the amazing packages of happy mail.
No matter what your daily task list looks like, I am confident you are constantly reaching for your wallet. So, why not make it one that’s filled with handmade goodness. Personally, I like to take a smaller wallet with just the basics for my quick trips during the week. You know, one that can quickly fit into my crossbody bag and not weigh me down. For me, my mini scrap wallet is perfect.
There is just enough space for me to tuck in my driver’s license, a few dollars, and maybe a credit card. It is perfect for walks, quick trips to the market, and more.

Mini Wallet SWAP Details:
WHAT/SIZE: Every participant will make and receive a mini wallet. The pattern/style is “Maker’s choice” and can be anything that displays your creative point of view. For this SWAP it is highly encouraged that you keep your design “scrappy”. The finished mini must be large enough to hold a credit card and at least a few dollars. Please be sure to include some sort of closure. It can be snap, button, velcro, zipper, etc. Just something to keep all items safe inside.
WHEN: Sign-ups are happening NOW through March 3rd, 2024, or earlier.* Partner email will be sent by March 8th, 2024, and all packages must be shipped to partners by April 8th, 2024.
WHERE: Everywhere! My SWAP events are open to everyone. Each participant will be paired with a partner in their general area to keep shipping costs low.
WHO: All fabric scrap lovers and stitchers are welcome! Please remember when joining any swap, your partner may have a different skill level. Along the way, I share helpful hints and technique-based tutorials and because of the community atmosphere, you can get help and ask questions along the way.
Price: $5 per SWAP – I am often asked about the fee and want to clarify right up front. Running a SWAP of this size and caliber requires a tremendous amount of effort behind the screen. There are many hours spent organizing, emailing, and following up on participants. Not to mention being a SWAP Angel when a partner falls out at the last minute.

How the Mini Wallet SWAP works:
The Mini Wallet Swap is open for sign-ups until March 3rd, 2024.* Once signed up you will be sent a quick questionnaire to help me pair you with the perfect sewing buddy. Then I’ll be digging in with my team and getting to work partnering you with the perfect sewing buddy. All participants will receive an email with their partner information by the end of the day, March 8th, 2024.
