- removable marking tool
- fine pins

- iron & ironing board
The Cartwheels mini quilt finishes at 18 1/2″ x 18 1/2″. It is designed to help improve your comfort level with cutting templates and I’ve even got a quick video to show you how!
But let’s not stop there. Since the kit features more of a tonal color pallet and whites, I thought it would be fun showcase the design from a different point of view. I went for a splash of color and started a red print from my scrap basket. The balance of the focal colors were all pulled from this one print. Let’s take a look at how it turned out.
My Cartwheels Mini Quilt
This pattern is really the perfect way to practice so many skill builders in quilting including:
- nesting seams
- pressing
- strip piecing
- perfect 1/4″ seam allowance
- matching points
It always amazes me how fantastic fabric scraps look together long after the original project has been completed.
In the end, I just love the way it turned out. Now my challenge is what to make with it. I’m thinking a fun pillow cover to SWAP with a new sewing buddy from the next Scrappy Girls Club SWAP.
Remember, you can find all of the Quiltologie Mini Mania quilt kits by Fabric Editions at your local Jo-Ann Fabric Store and Craft Stores.
