I have some exciting news…. Actually, it was just another day round here until I got an unexpected phone call from my mother. You know the one where you can tell she is excited and proud at the same time.
It turns out that I may have forgotten to tell my mom that there was some exciting sewing news coming from my world before she read about it in a magazine. Okay, let’s paint the picture here, she was flipping through her latest issue of Sew News and thinking to herself “Hey, Heather should be in here.” Fast forward to page 38 and there I was – looking right back at her! Imagine her surprise to see me staring back at her.
So, without further explanation, I have a project in the latest issue of Sew News.
WIP= Work In Print
My Paper Pieced Messenger Bag pattern is included in the latest issue of Sew News. You can find it on the news stand soon. I wish I could share the magazine layout but my local store does not have the issue on the shelves yet and I am patiently awaiting my copy. (Fingers crossed it all looks good!)
Seeing my work in print is always so exciting, nerve-wracking and totally surreal all rolled into one. It is something that surely do not take for granted and will always appreciate. But the best gift was hearing her voice on the other end of the phone with beaming emotion. It might seem simple but it meant the world.
I have each and every one of you to thank for helping me reach these goals. Without your steady support these dreams would seem impossible.
I’m SO excited that Lady D dropped me a note and you can grab the Hexi bag pattern directly from this link. Thank you so much for sharing. I had no idea!

That’s awesome news! I had no idea that you could grab it on line. I am off right now to see what it looks like since I still do not have a copy in my local store.

You’re most welcome, Heather. Unfortunately, the download is only for the pattern (no instructions included), but it is still awesome that it’s offered online. I subscribed to Sew News too, so will have a printed copy of the instructions on hand eventually… and I do intend to make it as I always have a need for another bag of one kind or another. The messenger bag style is most suitable for me.
