I am sure it will come as no surprise just how much I love my Baby Lock machines. Well today, I am excited to share some fun and exciting news! I’m officially partnering with Babylock. YAY!
To be honest, I’m not sure who is more excited- me or the girls. You might recall seeing them stitching on Ellie, my Baby Lock Ellisimo from time to time. But to be far, I do not like to share. You see, she was that machine, the one that I saved for. You know what I mean, the one that you slooowly walk past and drool over while at the store. Then proceed to spend the rest of the day dreaming up a plan on how to actually pay for and bring her home. That was this purchase for me.
But since my girls are always excited to get ‘hands on time’ behind the machine, I thought it would be fun to have a machine in the studio that was more their speed. And let me just say, this machine is perfect! Please welcome the newest member of The Sewing Loft team-
The Baby Lock Grace
This machine is a little workhorse that will help you tackle ambitious projects, yet compact enough to travel on vacation with you. (hint, hint- have machine will travel girl here!)
Here is a snap shot of her features:
The built in threader is a must in my book and the thread cutter is a hands down winner with the girls.
With this new machine, the girls and I are determined to carve out more sew time and really get them stitching. Lady A wants to make clothing and Missy S says ‘more softies please’. I think it is so important to not only inspire but to nurture young creativity.
So, don’t be surprised if I share a few child friendly sewing projects with our sewing circle. You can also expect to find me as a guest on the Totally Stitchin’ blog sharing fun projects and ideas. If you have any questions about my experience with Baby Lock machines, feel free to email or leave me a comment.

I love. love, love my babylock machines! Yes, I said machines. I have a 6 year old ellageo and a 5 month old sofia2. I love both of them. I bought the sofia for the portability aspect of it. I was looking at the Grace also, but felt, at the time the sofia was a better deal for me. Now I have to decide if I want to teach my kids to learn to sew and share my machines. I don’t share well (some things). 🙂 Can’t wait for kids friendly projects!

The Ellisimo is amazing! I stitch on it every time I can at work! Well that or the Crescendo! 🙂 The Grace is an awesome starter machine! They will love that!

Recently a group called Enchanted Makeovers redid all of the residents rooms at a schelter for women in Detroit. They are on facebook. They added a sewing room and BabyLock donated six of the Grace machines. Only problem is when we are teaching a sewing project and you reach past the “stitch knob” your sleeve can change stitches on you! Helpful with new sewers is the adjustable speed. We have women sewing a 3 hour project that have never sat down at a machine before. Very nice experience.

Hello Kathy,
I am VERY familiar with Enchanted Makeovers. In fact, I have made several patterns & pillows for the shelters. So far I have not experienced any issues with changing the stitch setting but I will for sure keep an eye out for this. Thank you for the feedback. I know that sewing room makeover was amazing! Terry and the team are top notch and so wonderful.
