Say hello to the Thread Spool quilt block!
If you haven’t guessed by now, easy to make, patchwork quilt blocks are kinda my jam. Toss in a few options for using up leftover bits of scrap fabrics and I’d say the design is a home run. Well, this week’s block combines all of those features!

Honestly, this quilt block is beyond versatile. The stripped center unit creates a square which means, it’s the ideal size for swapping out with an orphan block you have in your stash.

Now for those of you looking beyond the block, I have the perfect project, the sewing machine mat!

This mat is perfect for keeping your quilting and sewing tools within reach while working. The easy four-pocket, anti-slip Sewing Machine Mat uses three 6″ finished quilt blocks to create the pocket detail. I think a sewing themed block would be perfect.
This block is one of “those” blocks that you will want to make over and over again. So, don’t forget to PIN THIS to your favorite quilting board on Pinterest. This way, you can look through your pins for inspiration and remember patterns you already on hand!
