Like many, I’m often bitten by the fabric bug. There is just something about walking into the corner quilt shop and seeing the wide assortment of colors and patterns that fills their shelves. I just love spending time in my shop looking at each collection. They are all so special and offer something different. Take thePetite Treat by Lindsay Wilkes of The Cottage Mama for example, from the moment I saw it, I knew it had all of the makings of a little girls dream.

Since I love the idea of making dreams come true, I thought it would be fun to create a welcoming space to encourage reading and day dreaming. Not only is this space packed with small touches of luxury but it has a very special body pillow.
The sweet dreams body pillow is made from alternating stripes of the Petite Treat fabric collection in a step pattern. To add interest and incorporate a feature fabric, I added a triangle detail on every other step.
I wanted the fabric to take center stage, I opted for simple vertical quilt lines that were randomly placed. On the opposite side, I created an oversized pocket to hold a special book or two.
The main print of this collection is pocket is prime for fussy cutting and I knew the pocket detail was the perfect spot. To highlight the print, I added a band of color across the top and really love the way it jumps off the pillow.
Once all the quilting is complete, it’s time to sandwich the front and back together. I went with an envelope style closure and added the contrast binding for a splash of color.
Thanks to the help of precuts, this sweet dreams body pillow cover is a quick sew project. No exaggeration, start to finish, I made it in just a few hours. It’s a great way to add a special handmade touch to an inviting space. Even Tucker couldn’t resist the snuggle factor while I was snapping my pictures.

Heather do you have a tutorial for the body pillow cover? It is just too adorable! I would love to make some for my grandkids for Christmas but I don’t see a tutorial anywhere for it. Thank you & God bless.
