Instead of the monochromatic look, I dug into my fabric stash and pulled a bunch of bright fun prints. Let’s take a look at the process.
My Turnstile Mini Quilt
After chain stitching my points together, I couldn’t resist giving them a good twirl. Something about seeing those colors floating in air just makes me smile.
A small dab of washable glue will help keep things in place while you get the center prepared.
Since I love the look of raw edge applique, I backed my center circle with double sided fusible and ironed directly over the center. Then it was all about the stitching.
This was really one of those projects that I just had fun with. I even used my pinking rotary blade to trim up the edges for the photo shoot.
Just think about all the different ways you can use this simple sewing technique in your projects.
Remember, you can find all of the Quiltologie Mini Mania quilt kits by Fabric Editions at your local Jo-Ann Fabric Store and Craft Stores.
