Our fabrics are all cut and it’s time to get stitching! Block 2 of Sweet On You is Twisted Tulip. Cutting instructions were released earlier this week and this pretty block sews together quickly. It requires 3 fabrics but you can easily switch things up with more. Let’s take a look at the sewing instructions for the Twisted Tulip block.

**Remember, cutting instructions yields 1 block and 6 are needed for the finished quilt.
Sewing Instructions:
Pin and sew triangles to adjacent sides of the Cuddle® (B), as shown, Press the seam allowance outward.
Starting with rectangle C, arrange colored rectangle along edge of unit per diagram with right sides together, and stitch in place. Press and repeat with rectangle D.
Arrange the remaining 2 sub cut A triangle pieces as shown on diagram. You will notice that corner of the triangle will match nicely with seam line. Repeat to opposite corner and press as diagram. *See additional note below in tips if having trouble with placement.
Twisted Tulip Block Sewing Assembly
Square up block and trim down to 9 1/2″. Repeat to complete 6 Twisted Tulip block units for the Sweet On You mystery quilt along.
Additional Twisted Tulip Block Tips:
- Starch background square (A) before sub cutting to reduce stretching on bias when pressing.
- Consider using a heat erasing marking pen and mark final size for accurate placement if needed.
- Save waste patch cuttings from C & D to make HST’s for another project.
- Use a large square quilting ruler to trim to final size.
- Pile of Cuddle® will “fill” in at kissing point of seam intersection. It is okay, if they are slightly off.
