Some days just don’t go as planned. Yesterday was one of them. I had mapped out a day of secret sewing to finish up a few deadlines, clean the house and prep for an upcoming sewing retreat but this pile of scraps derailed. My day was quickly filled with scrap fabric sewing.
I have no idea why but I just could not let it go. Before I knew it, I was stitching tiny bits together to make something new. Did I mention those HST’s finish at 1 1/4″? -Talk about tiny!
I tried my best to push them off to the side but they just kept teasing me. Before I knew it I was neck deep into making these cuties a quilt block. Thank goodness for my quilting foot and the laser beam. Without them, I think this scrap fabric sewing project would not have seen the light of day.
Scrap Fabric Sewing
This pineapple block is my photo finish of the day. (Update- the Pineapple Smoothie block pattern can be found here.)
Now, I need to get my rear in gear because Mom flies in this morning, I’m teaching this afternoon and Oh yeah, I still need to pack!!
Thank goodness for my quick sewing retreat must pack list. I’ll be following it to the letter to make sure I have everything I need for my girls weekend away with Mom!
ps- Want to make my tiny pineapple block? Leave me a note in the comments and I’ll do my best to make a quick pattern for it this weekend.
